The Hollies, built in 1856, was extensively & tastefully modernised in 2014 for the 21st century. We focused on creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere while keeping, adapting, or re-instating many original Victorian features. The house is set well back from the road, with plenty of parking just outside.
Both of our bedrooms are on the first floor, up the sweeping Victorian staircase, and are traditionally furnished with the only fitted item being the headboard! They offer views of the surrounding hills and our 3 acres of gardens and woods, which you are free to explore.
If you require a ground floor room, our Lodge may be available for B&B, so please ring to enquire.
Electric cars may be charged by the conservatory, where we also have water & electric supplies for a self-contained caravan or Motor-home. (Sorry, no shower or toilet available.)
A stone-built cycle store is available. Motorbikes can be securely left around the back of the house if preferred.
In setting up The Hollies we had a simple philosophy:- If it annoyed us somewhere else, we didn't do it!
Our Lodge is fully accessible for wheelchair users, as well as fully able guests, with adjustable height sinks and worktop. Holly Lodge is a 4* Gold self-catering facility which can sleep 7 guests in 3 rooms – a flexible one downstairs, and a double and triple upstairs.
