Welcome to the Hollies
Our B&B is now closed until May 2021 We will re-open with restrictions, for our own and guests' safety and peace of mind.
No guest displaying Covid-19 symptoms on arrival will be permitted to check in.
Until the end of restrictions in June we are intending to accept only one person or group at the same time. This can be up to a maximum of 4 guests; 2 in our double room and 2 in our twin room. We will not take guests in both rooms if they are not traveling together.
A room that has been used will be empty for the next 3 nights.
We will wear masks when greeting guests and serving breakfast. Our full Westmorland breakfast will continue to be available with only minor changes.
Packed lunches will still be available when ordered in advance.
The above will of course be subject to change as restrictions and advice are updated.
Any guests having to cancel due to contact with Covid-19 will receive a full refund.
Any guests making payments to us while staying here must do so by card. Contactless payment is available.
We are offering a 15% discount for all guests staying 2 or more consecutive nights with us. Please contact us for future bookings.
The Hollies, built in 1856, was extensively & tastefully modernised in 2014 for the 21st
century. We focused on creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere while keeping, adapting, or re-instating many original Victorian features. The house is set well back from the road, with plenty of parking just outside.
Both of our bedrooms are on the first floor, up the sweeping Victorian staircase, and are traditionally furnished with the only fitted item being the headboard! They offer views of the surrounding hills and our 3 acres of gardens and woods, which you are free to explore
If you require a ground floor room, our Lodge may be available for B&B, so please ring to enquire.
may be charged by the conservatory, where we also have water & electric supplies for a self-contained caravan or Motor-home.
(Sorry, no shower or toilet available.)
A stone-built cycle store is available. Motorbikes can be securely left around the back of the house if preferred.
In setting up The Hollies we had a simple philosophy:- If it annoyed us somewhere else, we didn't do it!
Our Lodge is fully accessible for wheelchair users, as well as fully able guests, with adjustable height sinks and worktop. Holly Lodge is a 4* Gold self-catering facility which can sleep 7 guests in 3 rooms – a flexible one downstairs, and a double and triple upstairs.
The main house and lodge may be booked together for retreats etc. Please contact us directly about this.
