How to Find Us

From the motorway (M6)
From the North leave at J40 (Penrith) Follow the A66 East towards Brough for 13 miles. When taking the exit for Appleby keep in the right hand lane to the T junction with Roman Road, turn right towards Hilton. We are 1/2 mile on the left in a copse of trees.

From the South leave at J38 (Tebay) Follow the B6260 via Orton to Appleby. You will come into Appleby past the castle and down to the market square with the Ti, the road then bends to the right & crosses the river Eden. At the T junction turn left, continue towards Penrith 1/4 mile, take the right turn towards the rail station (Station Road) continue under the railway up the hill, the road narrows to a T junction with Roman Road. Turn left under the A66 towards Brampton, we are 1/2 mile on the right.

From the A1 via Barnard Castle & Brough on the A66
Take the exit for Appleby, (the slip road is quite long and ends with a T junction, turn left) continue for 1 mile into the town. Look out for the left turn to Orton, by the river. Continue forwards towards Penrith & turn right for the station as above. Do not worry if your sat-nav finds a different route to us, using our postcode usually will place you about 200yds west of us

If arriving by train on the Settle - Carlisle railway
If you have not arranged for us to collect you from the station, exit from the opposite platform to the town & car park, down the path to Station Road & turn right, up the hill. Then follow the route as above. If you are happy to do so, at the top of Station Road where the road bears right take the path on the left; this allows you, via 2 stiles, to cross the A66 (dual carriageway) When the path joins Roman Road turn left. This cuts about 1/3 mile off the walk.

Google Placemarker is set up - just search for The Hollies, Roman Road.
